The Bad News: You completely fucking suck on the "I love my dog" thing! A titty dancer with a speed freak boyfriend! Man when you cut a dog loose you dont show it any fucking mercy man........NONE GOD DAMN!

um, I didn't know she had a speed freak bf. I said she'd been livin in the same place for years and made decent money. She has numerous mutual acquaintances. So there wasn't any reason to believe that the dog would be any worse off with her than he would've been, say, with a good friend of mine trying to clean up his life. In fact, given that she hates dope and won't do it, I figured it was better odds, to be honest. I also said:

quote:

I miss my dog, and I feel lower about that than about anything I've done all year. I might as well have tossed him out the window going down the road as what I did. It would've had the same result. But I was in a hurry to get back to this little bit a heaven I got.

so I don't think I need any help feelin bad about it, thanks.

Hey Mug. I missed this thread first time through. Good for you that you're getting off smokes. My dad quit on the first 9/11, coincidentally.

I have it on authority that the urges to smoke never leave. It is different for different people, of course. I only smoked about 10 years and wasn't a heavy smoker at that. I was able to get off them by not quitting: when I told myself that I couldn't have them, I'd use stupid rationalizations about not listening to authority and cheat. Now that I have permission to have one when I want (and I still do on infrequent occasions), it is much easier to resist. It feels like it is up to me rather than up to rules I set for myself. This is just how I do it, though, and I don't recommend this system.

Stick with it and you'll be happy. You might gain wait, so upping the exercise you get is a good thing. Some people have success with exercising their cravings away, be it pushups or walking. You like to tkae photos, so maybe going on a photo stroll will distract enough. And if you happen to fall off and have a smoke, don't throw in the towel.

It isn't easy to kick but you know you're better off for it. Good luck, my friend. If you stay off them long enough, you'll save enough money to come visit us here. Don't worry about the snoring. I do it too so people over here are desensitized.

Just got a Rowdy update from Joey's wife. He's with the titty-dancer's ex-husband. Jessica said, "Frank, Rowdy's fine, though Scott's a skitzer. Trouble is, he's turned into a goat-screwin dog now. He's got this goat that's his new best friend, and he won't leave it alone."

I figger that's not a bad gig for the dog.

I'm on the cusp of my first placement back at work here. My candidate just got an offer of 52K for a Kitchen Manager position with a large restaurant group that has a multi-unit entertainment and restaurant complex at a local mall. He is excited about it, but he's asking for three weeks vacation after a year, instead of two. I see no problem with asking. It's not like he'll be able to take it; this is the restaurant industry, after all.

Eight days since I had any tobacco products at all, and I'm pretty stoked about that and about making placements for a change. I have another one that should drop later in the week. This first one is a $4K fee, so the two of those placements should help me break even for what I've taken on draw since I started back to work. I get 40% of those fees, and 45% if the total fees go above $9K in a month. I'm glad he didn't place in September. The shitty thing is, all this can evaporate in seconds. People are fickle.

Funny you should mention that. The neighbors across the street from me got a miniature goat here a while back. It's bleat sounds like a baby.

Anyway, their perky little dog cornholes that poor goat each 'n' every day, several times a day. So, each 'n' every day, it sounds like a baby squealin' it's head off, several times a day.

May not be a bad gig fer th'dog, but I'd wager it's hell on earth fer th'goat.

Amen.

Three weeks per year at most places doesn't come until you've been there ten years or so. There's nothing wrong with askin during the negotiation, but they were already giving him a $2K increase in pay plus 1% bonus monthly. He ain't hurtin.

I think I just got a job order for a new KM AND the new GM for the Uptown Grill & Bar! They called and asked for me. It may not be such a good thing that the bar down the street knows to ask for me by name. At least she didn't know that the old GM called me "Fluffy".

I smoked about a half a cigarette about three weeks into the deal when I was drunk. Other'n that, I've been tobacco free ever since I quit Skoal a week into the deal. As I recall, you were going to quit once you were done with your dissertation. You finished that, did you not?

Not yet, have to do the final exam. Be giving up after that ('giving up after my PhD' was what I said, I believe).

had a great meeting with the folks from Famous Dave's this mornin. I even wore a suit for this one. I think we got off on a good foot with the new lady, but she was really noncommittal about. I'm never quite as optimistic as Brian is, though I'll keep a good face on it for the client. I'll close to a placement with em, but she's talkin end of fiscal/calendar year to get goin; that ain't cuttin it for me. Brian can get all the warm fuzzies he wants; I wanna see a check outta those wonderful people. I think I'm pushier'n my boss, but my sales stick better'n his as well. I wanna firm commitment outta you before I waste too much sweat recruitin people for you.

what I really oughta do is stop dickin around and get back to the office. It's gettin cold and wet outside. I came home to change into my overalls and get outta that suit. I've gained weight, and I get sick to death of hitchin up my britches. There's nothin fore or aft to hold em up, and my belly's steady pushin down on em til they's ready to drop plumb off off me. That's the price of quittin cigs, and I'll take my lumps (in bigger portions now, thankee). It's also an occupational hazard of my line a work and my attempt to get the BBQ account.
