After the awesomeness that was my soup I am celebrating encroaching middle age by doing middle age things, like inviting some friends over for dinner.
I'll start by wowing them with the Lemongrass and Ginger Soup with Tofu, then hit them with my spectacular Spice Rubbed Salmon with cous cous (couldn't be arsed with wild rice) and Green and Yellow Beans (french beans) with Olive and Shallot butter. I was going to finish with something new, like Lavender Brulee or Rose Petal Brulee, but that would make this whole gay extravaganza even gayer, so will probably opt for the traditional Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee.
this is an abomination, but I'm drinking my tea with Rice Dream. it's an experiment. there's a distinct possibility that dairy is partially responsible for my migraines, meaning I may have to give up milk (which I only drink in my tea) and ... dare I say it, cheese. so, I have given up cheese and milk for going on several days now. giving up cheese has been horrible but bearable. this lack of milk in my tea thing is just. not. tolerable. and soy milk is just repulsive. I may die. Rice Dream is foul. I miss my civilized morning teas and, truly, what is a mouse without cheese?????
I have also, recently, had to give up milk. Strange to discover that the flatuence I'd written off as a product of age, has all but completely stopped. I've also lost weight- not so great, 'cause I'm wicked thin already. No cheese sucks. TexMex is prety much out for good, as is pizza. I am still using 1/2 and 1/2 though, my doctor says it probably doesn't bother me as much because the coffee breaks it up fro me and it's y'know, like, half fat.
Milk, it seems, is in fucking nearly everything.
Rice Dream is so damn nasty I put peanut butter in it so I could tolerate using it in my cereal this morning instead of regular milk. I created a taste sensation! mmmm, where you hiding that PB, simon?
