Better that than paid conquistadors that are doing nothing but chasing windmills. I fret about leaving a legacy sometimes... I am childless so my legacy would have to be broader reaching. At times, though, I struggle so much with feelings of worthlessness it is hard to imagine making any kind of difference. I figure if I ever do get to the point of doing something, it will probably involve being published.
If you feel worthless, why don't you do some volunteer work in your spare time helping people. Because if you are out there helping people, they won't feel you're worthless, and then maybe you won't either, because you WILL be making a difference.

Gfy, I already do. I'm on a board of directors and against all odds a mentor as well. It is nice to help people but it does not make me feel fully fulfilled. I am sure it is some kind of brain malfunction. Hi there dingle
