Eddy Arnold recently passed away. He was one of the biggest country hit makers ever. This youtube clip is obviously a plug for the poster's disc jockey service, but the audio of this classic song is excellent: Make The World Go Away

Johnny Cash's name can't be spoken aloud without mentioning his treatment of Trent Reznor's song "Hurt". I can't imagine there's anyone here young or old that has not heard this.
Absolutely the greatest pairing of a song and a singer ever.

Conway Twitty was a rockabilly star before he did country, actually. He was a cohort of Ronnie Hawkins. I have some of that old music on CD that Cody burned for me and left at my place.
One of my favorite songs by him is 'It's Only Make believe' *I have a soft spot for 50's music. I have his first album Conway Twitty Sings, every once in awhile I'll throw it on the record player and give a listen. My kids think I'm extremely old for playing records (and having cassettes) I haven't shown them my old 8 track of Freddy Fender yet. (I don't have a player or I would)

This song was written by Kris Kristofferson. Sammi had a huge hit with it. There's another song on this youtube clip, too. I think it's "I'm Gonna Change Everything" by Jim Reeves, but I'm not certain. Anyway, here's Help Me Make It Through the Night.
About this lovely woman and talented singer, from wikipedia.

Are you sure about that ? Do you have the American triology, all five of them ? Then the "outtakes" from that series as well ?
Asking not to be a smartass, but to inform. I bought the "American recordings outtakes" cd from a German at a market. My comment was along the lines of "never heard of this", his reply was along the lines of "you should have heard of Johnny Cash, he's very famous".

moron
Honestly, not 100% sure. What I have is over 1300 mp3's - not organized by albums. Out of all of that body of work, my two favorites are the original release of "Ring of Fire", and his cover of "Hurt".
1300 should pretty much cover it. Friend of mine had "Ring of Fire" played at his cremation not so long ago as it goes.
Someone once remarked that whenever Johnny Cash recorded someone else's song, he made it his own. Personal favorite of mine is his cover of Nick Cave's "The Mercy Seat".
Worked local crew for him once, Royal Albert Hall, saw some of the show from a side of stage box.
