OK. I have a job and am thinking about getting a house on the Oregon Coast. An Aussie or two has said he or she might make both, so it makes sense to have the Oregon pissup within a week or two of Vegas.
I'm hoping to get a good idea of how many people will come. Does anyone mind if I bring my dog and get a dog-friendly house? So far, the dog-friendly houses we've gotten have been gorgeous, not dumps as you might expect. Hercules is quite civilized and generally nice to have around.
Most houses will run a group $25-$50 per night each person, and I don't think I've ever spent more than $35/night getting a group house with a crowd of folks. I want a house with a hot tub, but barring that most have jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms.
Roll call: How many of you have a 75% chance or better of attending?
The drummer said to plan for $100 for the whole weekend for lodging, but it will probably be a whole lot less. Food is whatever you want to get/bring. We always make a fresh fish run and do a big BBQ. Meat-eaters welcome, of course.
For anyone who hasn't seen the previous threads, potential activities: clamming, crabbing, fishing, boating, whale-watching, kite-flying, tide pools, hiking, bonfires, sun-bathing, swimming (if you're a polar bear), dirt-biking, etc. I can link to a couple of areas I've stayed in in the past, as well as a fabulous beach we discovered recently, if anyone's interested.
Rockaway is a great little place - my Mom lived there for a year after Dad died, sharing a house with her best friend. I have many, many fond memories of the Oregon Coast, from Gold Beach to Astoria. I think my favorite town is Depoe Bay, although Coos Bay has much to reccomend it.
Brett and I are a 75% or so chance of being there.
We're willing, and can more than likely get the time off, but will only be barred by whether or not Brett's mom is willing to take the kids for the weekend.
She probably can and would, but this far in advance, I can give no certainties.
Flame away! I'll buy you a drink at the pissup. Meanwhile, do single folks mind sharing a room? It will lower your cost per night. Sometimes the houses have large rooms with various types of beds, sometimes they have rooms with double/queens in them. I'll see what our options are and put it to a vote, if possible. I'm going to plan on 10-12, or even 15 people being there.
it would be inconceivable to miss it if you had it before/after the vegas thing.
as long as it's real close to that date i should be able to include it in my american oddysey. how many rubber cocks should i bring?
suki is a definite i'm pretty sure. she is in the carolinas right now and can't get online.
