By rich if you mean: Baby-boomers who (like yourself) may have worked hard at once but who also happened to be the luckiest generation in the entire history of humankind, then yes, TT, by sheer dumb luck, I count you as rich. My richness doesn't refer to a number in my bank account; it refers to the character that I have built through many life experiences.
I'll stack my life experiences against your numbers any day of the week, my friend.
Please. You've never experienced financial success now, have you? There are many, many things you've not experienced. I realize that you are among an exclusive few who rent property that requires payment into a parking meter, but even your transie...er...mobile lifestyle has limited your ability to experience anything that requires you to put extra gas in your house.
So stack away, Plum. Regale us with tales that only your vast experience could offer.
Financial success is a relative not an absolute concept. What does it mean to you, $100K / year? I admit that I have yet to make that much in a year, but by my definition, yes I have experienced financial success and there's been numerous times when I had more money than I knew what to do with. I don't recall those times as being crucial to my experience of life.
I don't consider your life experiences to be deeper or more meaningful than mine. As I recall you have built houses, and you've spent months in a coma- two things I haven't done and wouldn't care to ever do myself- but I don't see how those things have made your life richer than mine in some absolute sense.
Yes, I lived in a car quite voluntarily, for a brief time, over ten years ago.
Admittedly, it was kind of funny at first...
That said, I'm not much of a story teller and don't feel compelled to prove anything to you anyway.
Location: Either Georgia or Alabama, depending on the time of year.
I am sipping vodka mixed with white zinfandel right now. I hate vodka all around because it's generally too strong for me, but this seems like a good idea.
I am listening to NIN and getting re-obsessed...obsessed like I was when I was a teeny teen.
