And I I don't have a need to participate as a worker, I don't lack a social life.

Bicycles really are amazing devices. Relatively simple and yet so useful.

Debt is largely slavery.

Children are a choice.

The need for a job is dependent on your debt(slavery) level.

You have to bring something to the table first. Some kind of argument, some kind of experience would be great.
Show me that you have the ability to participate, to contribute.

Thank you. I know so many people who woke up in their 30's to realize that only death or lottery money can give them peace.
And it's a bit frustrating. It's not like the warnings aren't there. E.g. asking dying people what they regretted most: I worked too much.

Does that make people work less, or make our politicians change their attitudes? Nope. They still sing the 'don't be labeled a dropout' tune.

I agree in principle. As you well know, involuntary servitude (and slavery) was abolished by the passage of the final version of the 13th amendment. No problem, as we have a very robust system of consumer-driven voluntary servitude.

Amen.

By your logic it can no more be relief than terrifying, since you won't know. That's the point, instead of thinking of death as a relief, I don't want it to end. Life is awesome, weird, terrifying and everything else between, so why would anyone want that to end, not counting those who live in pain?

Its not hard, follow. Terrifying was a state of mind while alive therefore so is relief. After death, nothing matters.

I did follow, which is why your argument doesn't make sense to me. You seem to want death, for some reason. Tell me about it Tuba, why are you so ready for death?

If I wanted death, I would be dead you halfwit. Its the alternative afterlives that would annoy me.

You did not follow, not even a little bit

I've mentioned this online to Atheists before, and they become bothered by it. But that is exactly what it is, if there is no second life. Very poetic.

Wow, thats just sad. I also typed a following sentence, that gives the snippet you quoted, context.

Now try again.

Obviously, as there is no awareness after death, ie: no afterlife, (are you with me so far?) then any considerations of terror or relief must be during life. Its really not hard. Youre the one obsessed with this afterlife aspect. You then ascribe to me and other atheists according to you, that I and they must not understand their own argument as this pondering of an afterlife, must take place in said afterlife. But thats just you being ignorant and not following the concepts. I, and they, dont even consider it. All considerations, thoughts, ponderings, are during life.

You, still did not follow.

To help you, Ill spell some more out for you. Life is great, but I wouldnt want to spend ETERNITY anywhere. Sooner or later, any possibility for existence, for fulfilled existence would have to come to an end, to be boring, to be, meh, I ve done all that. ETERNITY is a fucking sight longer than any existences you can conjure.

If its reincarnation you prefer. Fuck that, the odds it will be a better existence than you have now, are slim. Theres far more 'life' that lives a shitty existence than that which lives a bearable one. You could come back as one of the many critters that daily are devoured alive (yes alive for much of it), or moss. Youre pretty close to that last already, maybe thats why youre happy to embrace the notion of a do over. Most failures love the idea of a do over. Your failures now dont really matter, youi get a do over. Children need such things.

Therefore it s a relief (here and now, while alive) that once dead, its all over. The notions involving afterlifes of any kind, are all childishly naive. Even those that consider the awful possibility, assume that sooner or later, one will be the good one. But thats far less likely, than likely, you just need to be honest to see that.

You suggest atheists make no sense based on your flawed reasoning. But its you, who fails to grasp the concepts involved and their tense.

You have a strange desperation to be the antagonist. But you need weight to throw punches.

Thanks for clearly demonstrating the problem.

Nah. I found a near dead corner of the internet where the crowd that couldnt fit in with the original forum, spawned off its own more controlled world (the special ed room if you like), and you are its dregs. The entertainers, have moved on.

Antagonist be damned, Im just calling you on your bullshit. Theres just a lot to point out.

It's very symptomatic of this discussion. There is always going to be some noisy blowhard calling you stupid.
Watching my point change from 'I don't have a car' to 'I want to live in a world without cars' is a fascinating thing to behold.

Thus what you perceive as bullshit is not very convincing in an objective sense.

Show, don't tell. For some reason you choose to show an angry and bitter man. So thanks, I guess.

Cars? And phones, and jobs, and kids
...and YOU, said you cant relate to people who have these things, and described those same people as soul destroyed. The impetus went on to talk of how do you tackle the topic, without coming across as broken. You used other words, but thats the reality. As I said, you wont understand it, because you are it, broken.

You know that redneck, right wing tactic of revision bullshit? You share the trait.

30s or later. My friend is on the process of getting ready to put his house here in the Denver metro area on the market. His intent is to move south to cheaper market and use his equity to buy outright. This would make it possible for he and his wife to survive on a single part-time job. If they both work part-time, they'll live fairly well. Much as I'll miss having him nearby, I cannot argue with his plan.

Im not taking anything to heart. Its a forum, its designed for interaction.

Was I supposed to join you melancholy misfits in your disdain for the asset building and enjoyment of others? Celebrate the lack of work ethic? Celebrate the dropping out and excusing of ones self as a drop out parasite? Moreover, attack those that still contribute to the social pool of funds use to allow that choice?

I dont care if someone chooses that life. I see them as a willing tool of economics, part of the numbers used to keep downward pressure on wages. But I also have no qualms in calling it.

Indeed, except I said those things are potentially soul destroying. It's probably a bit too dramatic a phrase. They can and do make people lose life quality.

Yes. So far you seem to have understood my point. Something inherent in these observations apparently piss you off.

Where is the revision?

So far I am forced to conclude that you're pissed off to see someone eluding a trap that you're caught in.
OH YES I can play that card.

Except Im not in any trap.

Economics 101. Debt, creates wealth. It only creates servitude in those that lack vision. The economy is not a man made construct, it always exists in some form, we just study it. It will always exist, whether it be barter or currency based. Rarer desirable things are always worth more than common or unwanted, skills and vision are no different. Theres a reason that the Kardashians for example make a lot of money. One of them is they are far smarter than you. The point, the economy is a natural occurrence, making these little protests no different than any other emo bullshit. Youre complaining about a natural phenomenon not within the power of anyone to change.

Its fine, I dont expect you, or your fellow plebs to understand it. Youre all on the treadmill, or dropping out so clearly you struggle with the concepts.

Revision, its all through the thread, and begins with the title and opening post. Its not hard to find.
