A game called 'Snap shot'. It is played on a pool table, and the rules are simple: Eight colored balls are scattered on the table by placing them in a diamond at the center, and one player (decided by coin toss), breaks the diamond. The opposing player gets the cue (only one) and stands with back to the table while the first player places the cue ball wherever desired, but it must not be centered on the table. Once placed, the cue holder turns around, and has a timed 15 second window to take a shot, which must be at least a single bank shot to count, and must go into a pocket on whichever end of the table the cue ball was closest to or a side pocket. Single bank shots are 1 point, double bank 2 points, and so on. A cue bank shot before striking and sinking a ball doubles the points for the shot. Failure to take the shot in 15 seconds forfeits the shot to the opponent. The friend whose home we were playing at beat me badly in the first three games, but the winners 'reward' for each winning round soon gave me an advantage - the winner has to down a full beer, or a shot of whiskey. I seldom drink, but I have a very high tolerance for whiskey. I lost my 4th game by two points, but won the 5th by seven points.
