Anth3m, I have to say that I am certainly glad that I don't have RL friends like these. I know that I and obviously you would be all over a real friend for doing something like this.
GB, the anology "Friends don't let friends drive drunk" is a perfect one here. The line is for the safety of the friend as much as anyone else.
With "best friends" like that, who needs enemies?

Drunk driving is at the opposite end of the spectrum to getting a tattoo. It is his body, he can do what he wants with it, he has already stated that he has the "fuck the future live for now" mentality, so let him be. His tattoo is not going to run any one else off the road, smash head on into another families car or anything like that.

The only thing I see at risk here is the image he portrays to other people about the tattoo industry. I dont think many people would be stupid enough (sorry rizz, but i do think its stupid) to tattoo themselves with glow in the dark fabric paint, and I dont think many tattoo artists would do it for a person either. I think most people would be able to see that it is a home job, and if they dont realise, im sure they will get told so when they enquire at the local tattoo shop for "one glow in the dark tattoo"

sorry, i just dont see the relevance of the analogy

edit: gimmee a sexy point dammit

health issues aside (since rizz already dismissed them), neon pigments are seriously fugitive. they fade so fast it's not funny.

enjoy your tat for the six months or so that it glows under a blacklight.

I gather you are incapable of making an anology. Perhaps you should look the word up. Need a link?

It is his body, he can do what he wants with it, he has already stated that he has the "fuck the future live for now" mentality, so let him be.

You have never really come across as anyone giving a shit about anyone but yourself so I will understand your saying that. He isn't your friend so why, in all honesty, should you care if you chose not to?

His tattoo is not going to run any one else off the road, smash head on into another families car or anything like that.

Didn't score to high in reading retention either, did you? Go back and read the post of mine that you quoted very slowly this time. Did I not point out that the line refers to caring about the drunk and not potential victims?

The only thing I see at risk here is the image he portrays to other people about the tattoo industry.

You don't see the risk to him but you see the risk to the tattoo industry. Interesting.

sorry, literary components dont rate high on my list of things to care about

It is his body, he can do what he wants with it, he has already stated that he has the "fuck the future live for now" mentality, so let him be.

You have never really come across as anyone giving a shit about anyone but yourself so I will understand your saying that. He isn't your friend so why, in all honesty, should you care if you chose not to?

in all honesty, you dont know enough about me to base that sort of opinion on.

His tattoo is not going to run any one else off the road, smash head on into another families car or anything like that.

Didn't score to high in reading retention either, did you? Go back and read the post of mine that you quoted very slowly this time. Did I not point out that the line refers to caring about the drunk and not potential victims?

*shrug* either way, its still his choice. If he wants to suck on the dangerous end of a gun, so be it.

The only thing I see at risk here is the image he portrays to other people about the tattoo industry.

You don't see the risk to him but you see the risk to the tattoo industry. Interesting.

incase you cannot distinguish the difference, i will point it out. The risk he takes by tattooing himself are his own problems. He can do what he wants to his own body, however it does effect the tattoo industry, which is why i bought that up. His choice effects other peoples incomes, which i do think is unfair.

I dont think many people would be stupid enough (sorry rizz, but i do think its stupid) to tattoo themselves with glow in the dark fabric paint, and I dont think many tattoo artists would do it for a person either. I like the green font. Maybe I should give you a culture point for the color coordinating with the yellow. The happen to be the colors of the balloon I fly.
You could make an awesome decorator, are you gay?

Let me ponder the culture point but forget the sexy point, I don't find you the slightest bit sexy.

Ok, now that I'm not so mad.... Here's my point:

As a tattoo artist, I get people who come to me all the time, wanting to get tattoo's that are "for the moment", (like people who want the same kind of tattoo as the undertaker, names of loved ones across the throat, tattoos on the face, and highly offensive and highly visible) and while I don't advocate deciding FOR someone what they should or shouldn't do, it is part of my job, and just good common sense to educate people about the long term ramifications of their choices. Like how are you going to get a job with "I FUCKED YOUR SISTER AND HER BEST FRIEND" tattooed across your forehead. Or "WHITE POWER" on your hands.

Now, RizZ goes and puts this crap into his body, posts pictures of it on this forum, (and god knows where else) and maybe some kid comes in here, looks at that, and decides to give it a try him (or her)self. I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that while we get really weird here sometimes, we at least did it like adults, and didn't validate things that could be dangerous to others.

As far as my drunk driving anology, I was never making any reference to "potential" victims, as much as I was to Karen taking a "que sera sera" attitude to something that could eventually do someone great harm. And yes, there is the side of potential victims too. What happens if Rizz decides "I've got nothing to live for, so fuck it", gets something from unclean tattooing. (contaminants aren't JUST on the needle, but in the air, and every surface you touch. 13 year old paint could have anything in it, on it, or had anything done TO it - you have no way of knowing. And the machine is 13 years old too? Well what about the crap that's INSIDE the tube which your "needle" is housed? The tip?) He then meets a wonderful woman/man - whatever his preference. Do you want to pass something on to that person?

I'm just saying, THINK about the long term. And if you still want to do something risky, fine. That IS your right. But you also have the responsability to not advertise that you're doing something stupid and very risky.

Hey, I have some Prussian Blue and Black India drawing ink. The prussian blue says "waterproof transparent acid dye" and then has a lot of japanese characters. Must be safe.

Anyway, when I was in high school I knew a kid that gave himself tattoos with a needle wrapped in thread and dipped in ink. I am not sure about safety, but it appeared to be the optimum way to acheive a shitty looking tattoo.

bah, the only little boys i know here are tack and justin

you could have just posted it in his thread to warn those about the 'evil' half of tattooing

not that you aren't entitled to your opinion, cause i can tell you are incited about this subject

but the fact being it is his body(sorry libertarian creepin in) the fact that goatboy posts split open cocks (not to pick on you, you wank) you don't see us with razorblades

point being, yes you can call him foolhardy for this reason, but i can assure you RiZZ is far from stupid, a little crazy yes , but a highly intelligent person

i guess my point is, sure critizing is fine, but you kinda did come off harsh on a personal level

but you still know i would anally love you anth3m

i understand, as its your art. but it was his decision

and i know it wasn't his first tat

but i fail to see whom else it may influence, and if you were so concerned. i wonder why you were insinuating ignorance or plain abrasiveness to him
