Newslink sites

So, I occasionally look at www.drudgereport.com, but that often sucks.

I also read www.realclearpolitics.com which is a lot better (although their editorial line is staunchly pro-Bush), although they link stuff like the NYPost that also often sucks. They often link Bob Novak, who I like, though. Paint has reservations about their presentation of polling data, which he could explain rather better than I could.

What other sites are there, that are worth looking at?

NB: The BBC monitoring service does a pretty good job at providing news from other sources, too, I should look at that more often.

Have you checked out RSS feeds? Phil mentioned a great tool a while back.

Speaking of Novak (who I like too some of the time), did anybody catch that Crossfire last week where he looked like his head was going to explode? I don't think I've ever seen somebody that mad on TV. Thankfully, I found the transcript.

He is pretty poor on crossfire. Begala can speak partisan bullshit without looking any different than he normally does (no coincidence there, I think), but Novak looks out of sorts doing it. He is better on the Capitol Hill Gang.

Have you checked out http://news.google.com? Kind of an all-purpose catch-all, but not too bad.

I RSS. A lot of my news comes from allheadlinenews.com and I get my political rants from dailykos.com (democrat) and instapundit.com (republican) both swing pretty hard in their perspective parties at times. It gives me a good balance to read both. Slate is a fun read. They just put together a bunch of stories and give a pretty good rundown of what it all means.

Slashdot, ars technica, wired, extremetech and boing boing are all good tech news sites, as well as AP for a macro level look at what's going on in the tech world, including economics and politics.

Crossfire might be the most annoying show on TV, but I am thinking of Begala and the bowtie guy. If you are talking about purely political-type news, I don't really read much other than Opinion Journal. Every day I scan the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, AP/Reuters wires, BBC, Straits Times (Singapore) and other various stuff depending on when I am working and how much time I have. But I look at those for news, not politics (unless the story is big enough that it is in the main section).

Yeah, Tucker was away for awhile and Novak stepped in (and was bad). But Crossfire is annoying, hell yes.
