What are you drinking?

I just finished up a bottle of Kona Brewing's Koko Brown. The gimmick on this stuff is that it's brewed with toasted coconut, so I was skeptical. Turns out the coconut is only evident in the aftertaste, which is weirdly oily. Otherwise, it's safe beer, by which I mean essentially bland.

It must vary by batch, because when I tried that same beer, I found the coconut to be almost overwhelming.
I *love* coconut flavoured anything, but it was almost like drinking tanning oil + beer.

Currently drinking unsweetened iced tea.

Wells Banana Bread Beer
To be honest, sounded gross to me. I bought a single, just to try it.

It's actually quite good, and does indeed have a strong banana bread flavour.

Weird, but good.

Ninkasi Spring Reign. Hoppier than I prefer, but still quite good.

Thomas Creek Brewery OBP Toasted Coconut Porter

Not bad. Much better than the aforementioned Coconut Beer. I don't get much coconut flavour with this one, though.
Tastes good. There's not much else to say about it. Fairly unremarkable.

Vitamin Water. Way better than Life Water.

Barefoot Sweet Red. Too sweet, sort of syrupy. On the bright side, this means the bottle will last longer.

I drank way too many rum and cokes tonight and then sang karaoke. It was fun. That was the easiest 32 blocks I ever walked, and I was propositioned twice. Good stuff.

I spent a few hours at Teavana and now I'm on a Tea kick. One of my favorites is 'Monkey Picked Oolong' so, that's what I'm drinking this morning.

Posted by karen on 08-15-2012 03:07 PM:

I love Teavana, but try to avoid it. I can't walk out of there without spending a fortune.
The monkey picked stuff always makes me laugh.

Ginger pear tea. I love flavored black and often mix my own. Yeah, Teavana is nuts.

Posted by Sookee on 08-15-2012 03:49 PM:

I go to Teavana basically out of convenience and/or to kill some time while Pussycat shops. I've always been a tea bag kinda girl, not really wanting to fuss with the loose teas, but lately I find myself being drawn in slowly.I usually only buy 2oz at a time and sample it there to make sure I'm going to like it and not waste my money. If I happen to get sick of it or find myself not drinking it,I give it to my Tea whore friend.

I'm a tea whore. Can I be your friend?

My sister buys me Teavana when I visit her. She really knows how to condition me to keep showing up. I love the jasmine pearls and marsala chai. They discontinued my favorite black/green blend, Empress of China.

Damn,I didn't even realize I said that Karen.

+1 Prevert [p] for noticing it though *bigcheesysmile*

And Mousie, Of course you can! one can never have too many Tea whore friends.

Thank you, madame. My prevert-ism is woefully under-appreciated.
