Opinions of others in the forum....
From recent posts, what type of mental picture have you drawn of the other users in this forum, what type of personalities, and substance of people exist here, taking into question the certian anonymity the forum provides to people here mabey exagerating there true selves?
Just a thought......
i have to say....
yes.
and no.

I try not to form a picture at all until I get to see a picture. I've been on the "net" a long time, and have learned from experience not to do that.
I will say that I have learned that most peoples true selves come out on the net, not just the persona they want. You can tell who they are. These are the same people that are okay to hang out with, but don't let them start drinking, cause once the inhibition is gone, the true colors show.
Most everone in this particular forum I would hang out with in heartbeat. Haven't had this much fun since before my Efnet channel disbanded in 94.

I was thinking about this last night in chat. Not directly answering your question, I know, but it's close to the bone.
I wouldn't say I've had a sheltered upbringing - it's been about as free-ranging as you can get in Ireland. But what this does mean is that I haven't been exposed to the more prevalen elements of world society. Porn, although itis certainly around, ain't big business here. Not that it's especially frowned upon, it's just that the culture here is pretty much composed of the 'one' broad type of person. Know what I mean?
I'd always, I suppose, had a picture in my head of the stereotypical porn lover. But when the internet hit in the early 90's I started to look at stuff that I'd never really got the opportunity to see. And then I started meeting people who were doing the same thing.
My illusions were shattered. All of you guys here I met in SP changed that even more. You are all, in your own way, intelligent, interesting people, and in no way conform to the fucked-up notion of porn lovers that I'd badly misconceived in my earlier life. 'Course, you're all pretty fucked up too, buy hey...
Just wanted to say that...

Most of the shit I say her, I would say outside. I yam what I yam. (yes I say stupid shit like that in real life too)
With the exception of the obvious flirting with other members. The SO would *snap*.

What I mean, is when someone posts a personal posts, like the prob I had with my puppy, which incidentally realy upset me to start off with, because you're all offering advice, and trying to 'Put yourselves in my place' as it were, that you identify with that person and sort of draw a picture of there person...... I don't know, I think I've eaten something that dissagrees with me...
I didn't try to mentally picture you Czech. I did however have a very good mental picture of your GF and dog, all based on your description. Some of those mental pictures were quite funny as well. Is that more of what you are asking?

What the hell are you looking at?
Sp00ky owns me.
i really don't think about most of you except for the people i've talked to outside of here, and even then i don't get a mental picture.

I try not to form opinions of people here. For the most part, I like each person for a different reason. As for mental pictures... I've tried that before and failed.
I've just decided to accept everyone as they are.

Until recently I had a pretty clear cut opinion of a lot of people in here. But then people surprise me. Someone that I thought was a complete jerk (I wont mention names even if he is the person that began this thread!) turned out to be a totally different person that I can actually have respect for. And then there are other people that I thought were more sincere then they really are. I tend to have this issue in rl as well though, I misjudge people, usually I give them more credit then they deserve rather then less. I think that the people in here choose to present a certain aspect of their personality, whether it is positive or negative. After time, parts of their true self appear. So, I am trying to erase my previous opinions b/c I've been proven wrong. Although there are a few people that I believe I will consistantly be drawn to and that wont change.
The following are illustrations of the various mental images I have formed:
im a huge flirt here, but in real life, im very faithful...(eight years!) and im a housewife! i love my kids, and i enjoy my simple life. this is entertainment for me...a way to pass the time. i have grown rather attached to some other forum memebers, they know who they are, i am never shy about the way i feel about some people. life is too short, hug the ones you love.
Purley in the interests of science, I designed a progam to take all of he forum data and make a composite of Cage. Sadly, it was quite handsome.
But then I asked it to make an image of him trying to divide 223 by 7 in his head.

At least I'm not you.
its easy for people to make up a personality over the computer. they dont have to look any one in the eyes.
i like comming on cause i dont have to act.
i do enough of that at work.
