i say any of a bunch of songs from explosions in the sky, or ravi shankar. frosti by bjork and ice castles by ween are nice, and short.
i'm just going by what i listen to, not any sort of "this is The Best" criteria.

I like the buckethead song colma.

Batman Theme, the original, the mod version by the Jam or for the true fan, as done by Link Wray.

Non-classical? Okay...

Someone mentioned Frosti by Björk already..

Then there's Elegia by New Order.

And I've also got an mp3 of the Legend of Zelda theme performed by an orchestra. I love it.

In fact, I've got a LOT of instrumentals that I simply love... Can't remember them all right now.

Europa by Santana - without a doubt my favorite, I would think. Also the Mountain Jam by the Allman Brothers and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, if that's the one I'm thinkin of. The one with the longass Dickey Betts solo on it.

I like altan, a celtic band that my ex got me into. i can just remember watching them and loving their energy. (it's 50/50 instrumentals/vocals)

but the best has to be the instrumentals from the fragile, Nine Inch Nails. They're breathtaking.

Weather Experience by Prodigy is another of my old favorites.

Posted by morgana on 02-14-2002 09:36 PM:

carnage visors by the cure. and it still pisses me off that they haven't released it to CD.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I have to agree. I've never known the name though.
I had one in mind as soon as I read the thread title, but now can't remember what it was.

Ah shit, I forgot.

Atomic Rooster ~ Moods

" Future years will never know the seething hell and the black infernal background of countless minor scenes and interiors, (not the official surface courteousness of the Generals, not the few great battles) of the Secession war; and it is best they should notthe real war will never get in the books." ~ Walt Whitman
