I just rented:
Trainspotting
The Last Temptation of Christ

and bought:
L.A. Confidential
Auto Focus (the story of Bob Crane from Hogan's Heroes)

I suppose I should have posted this after watching these. I have not seen the Last Temptation or Auto Focus before. Trainspotting and L.A. Confidential are good films though.

Both volumes of The League... are masterpieces. The film is frustratingly 'nearly' there, but the books rock.

I stopped over in Mineral Wells last night and watched the first half of Under The Tuscan Sun with some friends. It was a yawner, I thought, but I can see why it's a good chic-flick. Still, it had me wanting to convince Dad to sell the farm and have us move to Tuscany or Spain and live out our lives surrounded by olive trees and greasy Mediterranean men - and young Polish carpenters.

Went and saw Miracle tonight, not my choice. Was okay. I seem to have a problem with movies in which everybody is always wearing a uniform and a helmet (war movies, sports movies), in that I can never keep anybody straight. Wasn't really a problem in this one, though, as there was little need to keep anybody straight. It was okay, nothing special, a decent video rental maybe. 2 and a half stars.

I still think Mystery, Alaska is the best hockey movie ever made (and yes, I realize that means I'm putting Slap Shot down as 2).

saw Snatch last night, the woman wasn't too keen on the movie. I had to let her know she was mentally deranged.

"you like dags?"
"dags?"
"dags, you know dags"
"oh dogs, yeah"

I just saw Butterfly Affect, it was much better than expected.
I think cause of the hoopla Ashton Kutcher gets a bad rap.

my favorite movies:

Band of the Hand-Classic old movie with unknown characters.
Mentor takes kids out of jail and tries to make men out of them.

Animal house-When that devil pops out-classic!-only in the unrated version

Cinderella-Not the kid version!

Death Race 2000- David Carradine(Before Grasshopper) rivals Sylvester Stallone(Before Rocky-only his third movie)
A bunch of idiots get in these "kit cars" and race across the continent, collecting points as you run people over. Old people and children generate more points.

The Warriors-Gay looking gangs battle it out in New York City
