death of the vietnamese assassin

its been said that if youre looking for a lucky break, in your professional or personal life, a good idea would be to buy a rhinoceros.

if you ask me, thats ridiculus. when i was in africa looking for a new business venture, i talked to a rhinoceros farmer who wanted to sell his farm, he was very unlucky. once, when he went to the market with his wife, while he was looking at some rhinoceros food for sale, his wife went missing. it turned out that she went to the toilet, but while he was looking for her he fell into a big hole in the ground, and lived in it for 80 million years.

Sumatran Rhinos wouldn't breed in captivity, until they found out that they had to have more fiber in their diet. They brought in ficus trees from California ($250,000 a year) and they started breeding in captivity. True story.

Just the off chance that I could derail a melon thread with the truth. Strange how life works.

ah, a fable.

. . . and the moral of the story is this: just because "it's been said" doesn't mean it's true.

"...Emi wears the Sumatran rhino's trademark coat of shaggy, reddish-brown hair, a vestige of its closest relative, the wooly rhino that died out in the last Ice Age.

Tufted ears flutter as she and her calf - the first Sumatran rhino bred and born in captivity in 112 years - munch on ficus browse in a balmy stall at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. ..."

Just saw this on Discovery Wed. night. So there, smartypants.

First you'd have to catch me and that involves coming into Texas. So before you start running after me, ask yourself one question. Is it really worth it?
