What’s the point? Some of my friends are for it and some are against it. As for me, I’m for my friends.

Because it's more interesting than what the Kardashians are doing, or who is screwing who on some Island, or endless photos of puppies and kittens.
Politics have become such a freakshow. Sometimes I think we're getting a little to apathetic about all the crazy shit because we're used to it and no longer expect better.

Muffy, I could not agree more with the gist of your first paragraph. In particular, I couldn’t give a twit for Kardashian twat.

As for politics, I tend to disagree. But, it’s a point for which I have no inclination to choose weapons and step off ten paces to defend. I suspect politics has been spawning freak shows since the dawn of civilization. Ironic, really. The only thing that has changed is the speed and range of info spray. From matches to flamethrowers, so to speak.

Amen.

Maybe they're fighting crazy with crazy. Your politicians are all batshit insane, IMO. That being said, I don't think it looks terribly good for trumplefucknuts.

I think the Democrats are helping cinch President Trump’s re-election. The first day of the rottenpeachment inquiry was really bad. Embarrassing.

The tone and tenor of coverage in right-wing media absolutely reflects that opinion. Other media outlets are the polar opposite. I watched the hearings. I don't recognize the picture Fox has painted of it.

I don't know how one can confidently opine on the coming election, let alone the impact of the impeachment hearings. I do think it will be a hard fought election, and it will likely come down to the same few swing states from the last election.

If Trump wants to avoid impeachment and keep his job, then someone should really just tackle his big orange ass and forcibly remove his smartphone. I foresee many headlines in the future referring to the "dumbphone" impeachment.

I don't think the Republicans are doing terribly well either. Too much focus on the whistleblower not appearing - which at this point is kind of moot. Also, their tone is all wrong. They need to work on making their points (some of which are quite good) without sounding so snarky, which distracts from the point and makes it look like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. I know it's just a perception thing, but at this point I would say that perception is rather important.

Oh, I disagree about the disingenuously labeled “whistleblower”. Ol’ whistletooter is who ostensibly kicked off this current Schiff circus. There’s no plausible excuse to shield ol’ Tooter from examination and scrutiny.

On the bright side, this is a truckload of badly contrived soap opera for those who are into binge-watching that sorta thang.

Amen.

I just don't think it adds anything either way. The whistle has been blown. Sure, we'd all like to know by who, as that could make the whole thing look a bit dodgy, but shouldn't the real issue be whether the good people of the USA feel that POTUS has done something wrong, or not, rather than who eluded to the possiblity that he might have? I mean, allegations of wrong doing by Trump coming from the Dems is hardly new, or interesting. Likewise Republicans trying to put a better gloss on things shouldn't surprise anyone. At the end of the day, don't you just have to decide whether you think its Okay for the President to do what he did? I realise that is a bit of an oversimpification, but I think that's needed with all the discussion about whether there was a quid pro quo or not (not the issue), whether the Ukraine muppet says he was okay with it (not the issue), whether Shifty blows goats (not the issue) ... etc..

I think Fox threw anything resembling impartial reporting out the window a long time ago. I only caught some of the hearings, but I did manage to see the bit where Schiff read out Trump's tweet about Yovanovich to her, which was rather priceless, especially coming on the heels of Stone being convicted

Everyone, Republicans and Democrats (not to mention the world), knows that he is guilty of exactly what he is being accused of. They've gotten to know him well enough to know that it is just the sort of thing that Trump would do. And yet, he won't be removed, all because the Senate is prepared to back him through hell and high water, come what may, since even Vlad the Impaler would be better than a Dem. They will vote to keep him just in time for him to make his glorious 'vindication' the pillar of his 2020 campaign- to ram it down the throat of any Dem that stands in his way, and it will probably work, too. Prepare for (at least) another four years of His Orangeness.

Vlad the impaler is starting to look rather appealing. I can see the forest of impaled republicans, softly moaning on their stakes, their shadows providing shade for the happy children playing at their feet.
