Yes. Indeedy. And it's painful to watch how the politicians and the media use that fact to manipulate voters so very, very well.
It's a god damn train wreck and the carriages are full of stupid people. I'm a huge, HUGE fan of freedom of speech, but seeing how the politicians and media use false information and facts taken out of context to pull everyone's strings has me querying whether there needs to be a higher duty of care amongst influencers to educate rather than manipulate.
In relation to the arguably racist tweet issue, has the left been milking it for all its worth to make it out to be more racist than it actually is at face value? Yes. Are the left correct to have concerns about the tone and content of the tweet? Yes.
Should the right be endorsing it? Absolutely not. Should the right try to hold the President to a standard of conduct more in keeping with basic decency and the kind of leadership needed to unite a country? Hell yes.
You are all picking yourself apart and the President is egging you on because it serves his agenda.
America is amazing. I freaking love it. I get why my fellow NZers don't understand my POV given the current situation. I'm choosing to think of it as an unfortunate blip in the history of colourful, passionate and brave people that make the USA a diverse country that allows for as much autonomy as rationally possible... usually. STOP LETTING YOUR LEADERS FUCK IT UP!
Seriously - your diversity used to be one of the checks and balances that helped keep a nice balance of freedoms. Now it is being used against you to divide you all so that one prevalent view will win. I get the feeling that will kill the very things that make the USA so appealing (to me, anyway). It will be one of the greatest tragedies in history if everyone just goes along with it because their beliefs have become so partisan that they can't see the forest for the trees.
And Mitch McConnell should be stoned to death immediately.
Location: In a place that is mostly too hot or too cold.
Can I clarify then, when you tell an American to go back to their country, how is it meant to be perceived? The my way or highway dictatorship that is happening amazes me. I almost feel so much scathing disgust that I want to say "you deserve it, guys"... I expect comments like that from ignorant people, but not from political leaders. I do think, though, the dems are waiting too long to run a solid campaign. They are not too swift on that front. Narrow it down!!!
I think the democratic demographic is slowly realizing that (almost) regardless of who the blue party vomits up as a candidate, they will be better than the thing we have now. Last time around, people voted against HRC (or didn't vote at all) because they didn't care for her. Unfortunately, I count myself among that group.
I get the feeling that there will be far more voter support than last time.
You could always try propping it up with duct tape. Or get one of those strappy leather man thong things with the lift and separate, like a little bra for your droopy bits. Think outside the box, so to speak.
" Future years will never know the seething hell and the black infernal background of countless minor scenes and interiors, (not the official surface courteousness of the Generals, not the few great battles) of the Secession war; and it is best they should notthe real war will never get in the books." ~ Walt Whitman
